This whole current situation is interesting and largely derives from the fact that men and women didn't work together much historically - probably because the social systems that evolved were trying to avoid the current drama.
Entrepreneurial women are somewhat more interesting than other women so Dave's bias is understandable.
Of course, these social overreactions add to the adversarial nature that the relationship between genders is taking.
Perhaps one thing we should all learn is that the typical pleasantness others treat us with doesn't mean much of anything beyond that they don't want us to respond negatively to them.
Look okay their actions... If they want to spend more private time with you, they likely think you're someone worth having a closer relationship with.
Often, that is men towards women, but in a situation where a relationship with a woman could be a major risk to your life, maybe be sure that she's showing signs of being very interested in you... Even broken relationships can result in future problems and that may be non-ideal for relationships in these circles.
On another note, I've come to the view that we have picked up cultural ideals of "partnership" and "equality". Women who might make good business partners rarely make dependable romantic partners, and we really need to stop looking for that kind of connection in our romances.
