Ethnic, minority, permanently embedded community journalism can be a major force in coming years. The problem is that many of these smaller media entities are facing the same problems as their MSM cousins, but they don’t have a tenth or one-hundredth of the resources that the NYT, CNN, and others have, even in their current weakened states of flux. I support Jarvis’ call for supporting and professionalizing minority media. And to get them out of their ghettos, maybe they should partner with the MSM. I’m currently doing research on this topic and hope to have a report soon. Feel free to be in touch.
