This is a really interesting question. I think Facebook verification can be seen as a double-edged sword. On one hand, it enforces accountability and that makes people behave better on dating sites. On the other, as you point out, Facebook becomes a kind of gatekeeper to yet another aspect of our lives. I’m not sure what the answer is!
