Practice Makes Perfect

The Virtual Graduate School

In Leon van Schaiks article Practice Makes Perfect, he addresses the notion of the Virtual Graduate School. What this is, is an operation of self awareness as architects in practice. It is an opportunity for architects to compile, reflect and evaluate their portfolio of work. “Findings emerge through close observation of the works,” and these findings are collated and presented at symposiums. Many practicing architects obtain their respective PhDs via this lens of operation. A meta-evaluation of ones work and trajectory.
