SIX HACKS that YOU can implement right now.

  1. LAVENDER.

The aroma of lavender brings a calming energy to your bedroom. Sprinkle some essential lavender oil over your bedsheets just before bed every couple of days. You can pick up a small glass bottle from Amazon or eBay for super cheap and it really is a god send.

2. MAGNESIUM.

It has been known to relax your muscles and has excellent restorative capabilities for the body. Consuming a small supplement tablet an hour before bed can really improve the quality of your sleep allowing you to be fully rested upon wakening.

3. SLEEP ON BOTH SIDES.

There are two key reasons for this. One, to help distribute the pressure along your body and by switching from right to left or left to right the pressures on your body are distributed evenly. Two, to help your body understand that when you lie on your side you help create a mental anchor, which tells your mind to start to wind down as it is sleep time.

4. FRESH AIR

If you can, sleep with a window slightly a jar. Nothing can quite beat a fresh breeze whilst being wrapped under some cosy covers. Getting a nice fresh dose of oxygen into your lungs can help put your mind at ease and help you nod off into lala land. Air flow into your room can help cycle the stagnant air and bring fresh energy into the bedroom.

5. NO EXERCISE BEFORE BED

Elevating your heart rate just before bed is a recipe for a restless night. Once your heart rate is up, it takes time before it is at a level for you to fall asleep. Try to workout at least 4 hours before bed if not early so that you are not tossing and turning.

6. BLACK CUMIN SEED OIL

This tool is more unknown but can be a great weapon at your disposal. The science from taking this oil is that it increases the tryptophan hormones in your brain which produce serotonin and melatonin. These are the hormones which regulate your sleep. Pour out a tea spoon just after waking so that you have the whole day for your body to process the oil before bed. You can wash it down with some water if the taste is unpleasant.
