In addition to the above I very much hope that two other issues find their way high up the list for consideration :-
- Globally, aren’t we still suffering from a balance sheet recession (as explained by Richard Koo) ? Looking at the picture from this angle, different stories emerge around the availability (but underuse) of credit and the lack of inflation.
- Growth and the local (or city) rather than the national view. With the ever-growing size of major cities, their individual economies and those left behind in poorer areas of the same nation deserve solutions that satisfy these major differences rather overall national strategies alone. GDP per person across a nation (and other such statistics) seem pretty meaningless to me in this real world city-based context.
I’ll just have to wait and see.
