THE POLITICAL CAMPAIGN YOU MIGHT NOT EVER SEE BY A BLACK MAYOR

There may never be a march about the interloping elephant in our communities: ETHNIC OUTSIDERS!

Bill’s interview of Sam Harris on Real Time With Bill Maher | Feb. 3, 2017 was just awful and in so many ways. Also any point by point dispute with them, judging from their past counter arguments on the subject of Radical Islam, would likely be dismissed as a false equivalency.

False equivalency. That’s Bill’s handy talking point and the following may or may not be an unverifiable generalization: It’s a false equivalency according to neo-Liberal reasoning, which is that White hate is not as threatening as jihadist hate; or the CPD, NYPD’s or LAPD’s police brutality, or anyone else’s more than threatening manners for that matter. That the police have collectively killed more Americans than jihadist’s is a false equivalency to some.

Both Bill and Sam doubled down on that line of reasoning during the Overtime segment, since jihadist’s have armies and the kkk & American nazi’s only threaten? to start a race war, and Israel’s apartheid actions are not called apartheid actions, and on and on… with my comparative concerns that are called false equivalencies. Here’s another one, our President has threatened to send the feds to Chicago. None of that is the greater or more imminent threat. Our President, I repeat, is not a greater threat than all of that. I reasonably disagree. Would Bill and Sam?

Nevertheless, a far worse falsehood (maybe not to Bill & Sam) is any notion that moderate Muslims are not in line with the multiculturalism of Liberals & Progressives: Don’t touch or re-direct our carefully vetted but welcoming lean-into a more Compassionate White Supremacy, that is neither compassionate nor supreme. Whatever does not address #BlackLivesMatter may also be on their table for the top priority of concerns.

With more than four hundred years and counting #BlackLivesMatter is still just an underlying or altogether denied issue. We are also encouraged to be reasonable in a sea of unreasonableness and to ignore the stench of oil wars against jihadist’s and not this country’s own domestic terrorists who aren’t even labeled as such.

It’s unreasonable for us to state that the more personal issue is not foreign terrorism, the personal issue is local economic terrorism. Distant problems ought not ever trump local concerns but for centuries they have done just that. There’s always something more pressing, even if it’s as artificial as the health claims on a fast food menu. That and let’s just skip over the fact that America has created just about every terrorist group that the world pretends is a greater threat than Missouri’s police force and our political parties. It’s called: Just pretend. I digress because of the multiple directions that Sam and Bill could have taken the inflated and conflated issue of foreign terrorism, or at least included in the discussion.

More importantly, what one may never hear from Bill Maher or see in a campaign by a Black Mayor is anything that has this paragraph as its explanation about why there is so much economic insecurity in a Hood near you. That’s because moderates are among those who ought to be fired in the local primaries, specifically. It’s not because of what the Time reports about or what members of the Congressional Black Caucus have been quoted as saying our economic insecurity is about in Ebony Magazine. The real reason for our economic insecurity is the elephant in all of their meeting rooms: Ethnic outsiders who have no historical right or any other bond with us that would give them the right to be where too many of them are in our neighborhoods.

It’s not about what is right for our community. Non-Black ethnic groups are used to disrupt our community, and they do disrupt. It’s always unreasonable for Black people to insist on what’s reasonable for our community. And what’s reasonable to them is just as reasonable to us. That reasonableness here is that non-Black ethnic groups (those who more or less marked something other than Black or African American on their census form) ought to own only as much as we’ve owned in the past five years in each of those ethnic group’s own community. Surely that’s reasonable. I guarantee that it is not, since such reasonableness would end Black unemployment problems in the next five years or less. It would somehow be argued that it is unreasonable to apply what others consider reasonable for themselves right back at them in equal measure.

I have a Chris Christie bridge to sell you if you are convinced that your Mayor, County Commissioners, small or large Churches, (maybe even You) or these esteemed Attorneys reasonably have our Economic Security in mind.

In other words, it’s neither reasonable nor ethical that Asians, Mexicans, Arabs, Pakistanis; 2nd, 3rd or 4th generation merchants from India, or any other outsiders (who are not ashamed about politely hating disagreeable and even likable Blacks just like a Liberal does) take so much money out of our neighborhoods through Permit Processes that have always been used to disrupt the economic security of the people from whom ethnic outsiders have earned no communal or reasonable reason to benefit from.

(See other disruptive processes: State Lottery versus Street Numbers, Drug War against Street Hustlers versus predominately White Marijuana Legalization).

There may never be any kind of national protest about any of that.

There may also never be a Black mayor who will campaign on that platform. No, no, no. Why? Such a Black mayor would have to be about complete, non-negotiable economic security. Such a Mayor would have to be less like Martin Luther King and more like the preacher Vernon Johns whom MLK replaced. Both leaders are valid, but so far we have paid far too much attention to one and far less attention to the other.

In a nutshell, even the “we have made so much progress but we still have a way to go notion” is a false one. It’s false because progress would be Blacks owning the same percentage of businesses in other ethnic communities as they own in ours. Base that notion on the past five years, and that would serve as our baseline for who stays and who is immediately dismissed from the Hood. Toss out the talk about capital needs, we already have the capital; we just aren’t campaigning for our ownership. Our unemployment problem is caused by an outsider ethnic occupation and us not treating ex-cons (and others) as skilled workers who already have enough skills.

This is what is happening: A prisoner works for Aramark, Rayovac, McDonalds, etc., in prison and then gets out and can’t work for any of them because he’s now an unemployable ex-con. To them that’s reasonable. To those who see that as unreasonable, toss that out along with their standards for what is and what isn’t a proper credential. Remember, “Our unemployment problem is primarily outsider ethnic occupation and we as a group not treating ex-cons (non-graduates, single parents, etc.) as an available pool of skilled workers.” Aramark, Rayovac, McDonalds, etc., do not treat them that way when they are imprisoned so why should we if we are being rational and reasonable?

Outsider ethnic groups are the interloper that are also the elephant in the room and that’s not even a part of the discussion. Why? Because such a discussion would also be considered unreasonable. On the other hand, saying that we have made progress is reasonable. Maybe, maybe not. What is certain is that progress is not an acceptable outcome; progress is an incomplete process. A person who can cook or weld in prison ought not need a certificate to do what they didn’t need a transferable certificate to do in prison. That’s reasonable, right?

A more reasonable and equity based process, based solely on outsider’s current treatment of us, would create thousands of jobs for us. We would know most of the people applying in a lottery to be part of this new wave of ownership and training process that is created by us to replace those who have no business doing lop-sided business with us in the first place. Anyone can clearly see what each outsider ethnic group’s vision of fairness and economic equity for us is. Do we want or need more of that vision or far less? Where’s the Sunday Sermon on that? Where’s this generation’s Vernon John’s? A man whose theme was, “To hell with progress and marching we want our profits.”
