Lot’s of great stuff here, but one sentence was poorly written IMHO and most likely unintentional by the author.

“I dismissed the compliment because I was also the only attractive female employee he had ever had.”

This would imply that subjectively “unattractive” women in the work place would have no concern with this type of behavior.
