Nuchaku Tricks (Not for Beginners)

We think we have already mentioned that these are not the simple nunchuck techniques that anyone can do right away. So, do not attempt carelessly!

(Note: Get yourself a foam nunchaku before proceeding any further.)

1. Over the Shoulder Pass

Everyone, who practices this martial arts or ninja weapons, wants to perform the awesome looking over the shoulder pass. This technique is quite easy to understand and learn but not as easy to master. So what you do is place one of your hand across your chest and close to the armpit, while you try to the flick the nunchaku sticks over the shoulder and around to catch it with the other.

Repeating the same thing over and over will help you do it at a faster speed and that looks really awesome. Make sure you don’t get too enthusiastic and close your hand before a stick reaches your grip, otherwise it will hurt!

2. The Shoulder Switch Nunchucks Trick

All the stick catching is done over the back. So, be careful as you follow the steps to perform this technique with real wooden nunchucks. Now, how can you perform the shoulder switch?
First of all, grab the nunchaku sticks with your right hand and place your left hand around the middle of your back, while keeping it fully open and with the palm facing outwards. Once you are ready flick the nunchucks back towards your open left hand and catch the stick. Now, slowly release the nuchaku stick in your right hand and bring the weapon forward with your left hand.

Keep repeating the technique and start increasing the speed over time. Once you have fully mastered it, show it to your friends to get feedback on how cool it looks!

3. The Wrist Roll

This cool move that you can perform with nunchucks is totally relying on physics. However, it can impress any passerby if you do it at high speed, while moving around and using both hands. All you have to do is grab your foam nunchucks with right (dominant) hand facing downwards while hold the other stick with your free hand from below (palm facing upwards). Now, quickly and carefully flick the nunchaku stick in your left hand over the right hand and then open your right fist releasing the other stick and finally grab the stick you flicked by your right hand.

Using the momentum from one stick over the chain to the other, it will seem like you are doing a wrist roll with a normal stick. Even though we all know, you are either using real nunchucks or foam ones to perform this trick!

That were a few cool techniques we wanted our readers to know about. For more articles on cool nunchaku tricks and techniques, keep visiting the platform regularly.

We hope you have lots of fun while practicing nunchucks but be safe otherwise you can get banged up pretty bad!
