This is the only song about Manila I know

In honor of Filipino-American History month, I’m writing one post every day for the month of October. Today is Day 8.

I know embarrassingly little Philippine music, but the cynic in me also believes part of this is because American music is so popular in the Philippines.

So, here is literally the only song about Manila I remember. My parents’ music consisted of James Taylor, Simon & Garfunkel, Earth Wind & Fire, and this song. It’s cheesy as hell, and I’m embarrassed to admit that it tugs at my heartstrings. I should also probably learn more Filipino songs.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
