Nobody wants to cut education funds.

The problem is that we spend more per pupil than many nations and have much worse outcomes. The reason is the administrators and union bosses are paid six figure salaries, and the teachers are paid so low they can hardly survive. On top of that we send way too much money to Washington, where it pays for more administrators, with a small fraction coming back to the towns we live in.

Abolish the D.O.E. and the Teacher’s Union and send all the money to the states, problem solved, double or even triple the funds for the teachers and the children.

This isn’t happening because the Teachers Union, and the SEIU members who work at the DOE, are powerful lobbying forces who send huge donations to the DNC….
