Not sure this is going to work. They might strip out the link. Pictured is a moss covered tree after a freak snow in the Purisima Redwoods a bit south of San Francisco, CA. The sun is melting the snow so there’s a constant sheet of sparkling water falling through the trees.
I have a theory. The fire using, tool making, upright walking hominid with a brain 2/3rds of the size of ours was distinguished partially by ‘planning depth.’ It/they could think some number of ‘moves’ ahead. If I make a ruckus here while you head over there at the narrows and wait, likely you’ll snag one of the rabbits I scare up. That sort of…
I understand the drive towards simplicity. We overload cognitively. I get it. But my design model has always been biological systems. Perhaps a few of our products should look more like forests and less like cue balls.
And don’t get me started on corporate environments where anything that’s more that 3 bullet points can’t get communicated.
Between here Soph and Jr years in HS my niece dropped Soccer (she was good) and started Chorus instead. That summer my wife and I are in the car with my brother-in-law (her dad). Sarah Seeno — still, I lost 30 lbs by eating half as much twice as often. I’m sure it all has to do with the body’s ‘algorithm’ for storing or burning calories. Definitely insulin levels are a part of the system that makes that decision but I think this timing-only model of the system is overly simplistic.
Not sure how to explain this in a short post but this might enhance the cathartic push of meditation if that’s still relevant. (Grof and Kornfield co-led workshops). Or take it in a totally different direction entirely. It comes across all newage but that’s deceptive.
