Why Turkey’s unique weather is ideal for real estate investors
Turkey has always been a haven for expats who wish to live a comfortable life and especially those who were interested in investing in a business friendly environment.
The country lies on the fringes of the Black Sea and shares a border with Armenia and Georgia along with Iraq and Iran. This along with its comfortable weather conditions, have made Turkey a popular destination for international investors.
Weather by location
The country is split into a total of 7 different regions each which have their own unique weather conditions depending on their location and proximity to Turkey’s majestic mountain ranges and oceans. The ones closes to the Aegean, Marmara and Mediterranean coastline boast the perfect Mediterranean and tropical weather with hot summers and mild winters.
The regions that lie on the east-most side of the country are fringed with mountains and are blessed with warm summers but colder winters. Since Central Turkey is located right on a plateau, it experiences cold winters but very little rainfall. In other words, each region may have its own unique weather patterns, but none are adverse enough to discourage investments.
Weather in Istanbul
Istanbul is by far the ideal destination for foreigners who wish to make a mint investing in real estate in the country and its weather has a lot to do with this. Summers stretch from June to September with July being the warmest before the heat starts dissipating. In fact, an average temperature during this season rarely goes above 28°C. Even though the summer can be quite dry, it is much better compared to other locations in central Turkey which are known for their arid conditions.
Winters in Istanbul experience winds both cool and warm, from the south and which brings cool and rejuvenating rain to the city. January and February are the coolest months with temperatures and which grow to a comfortable 11°C come March.
Like most coastal regions in the country, Istanbul winters are quite mild since it experiences warm winds from the coast. The city is known for the high winds but those are welcomed due to the rejuvenating effects they have on the area.
These are just some of the reasons why most investors prefer to buy property in Istanbul year round and why the country has established itself as a favorite tourist destination with more than 40 million visitors on an annual basis.
This is also why Turkey continues to provide vast investment opportunities in developed and developing sub-sectors. With its favorable location, comfortable weather conditions and ambitious projects, the country is not slowing down any time soon when it comes to international real estate.
