Let me paint the scenario. A child is abused from the day they were born. Brought up in terrible abuse at home they end up being deviant and struggle with life.

You think a few dollars is going to fix that? You think the opportunities given to this child will make them a model citizen over night?

The “child” is the black man and woman of America. The abuse is a system that has lasted over 500 yrs. Black people in the USA have only been equal to white people under law since the late 60's. Before then black Americans were officially second class citizens. So black people in their time in the USA have been truly “free” for like 1% of the time they have actually been there.

And in that time they built the wealth of a America for free. They got nothing but abuse, racism, segregation, poorer health and education services to thank for their “contribution” to building the USA. Crucially they were never seen as 1st class citizens of the country they helped build.

Black people are the only group in the USA who didn’t come there by choice and have no place to go back to. That’s why they have a problem. Immigrant communities are made up of people who left their original countries with the mindset of making it work somewhere else. They are organised and unified when they get there. Black people were dragged to the USA and their culture stripped, given the language and the names of their abductors who treated them like animals.

On top of the absolutely disgusting treatment of black people throughout the history of them being in the USA, white people went even further. As if it wasn’t enough. We have Reaganomics. We have the CIA putting crack specifically in black communities to fund wars in the Central America. We have 3 strike laws, prison systems designed to create cheap labour for corporations by targeting black people. Let us not forget the recent extra juridical killings of black people by cops. People shot in their backs like it’s a video game.

So the reality is the opportunities you think have been given to black Americans are laughable given the extent of the abuse these people have suffered in the USA over their history. It really is a unique problem that needs far more effort than white are willing to give to solve.

And it’s hard to blame the children of white slave owners etc.. who don’t know their past. They are not to blame. But they live in a system that is shaped for them. They have wealth generated by oppressed slaves but don’t realise it. If you don’t realise your privileged situation then how can you be blamed? How can you solve the issues for the people who are suffering through historical abuse and violence?

Which is why I don’t think black Americans should bother asking white people to help them anymore. White people are not interested. People like Jack are not interested in helping black people in any real way. And I don’t blame them. They have a fixed perspective that ignores the past that brought us here and thinks that what they give black Americans “under the table” (just like dogs) is sufficient to deal with their hunger.

There really is no point in the lobbying and the smiling at election time. They don’t care enough. Black people need economic freedom and power through ownership of corporations. That’s the only way out. They need to hurt the pockets rather than appeal to the hearts of white america if anything is to change.

Stop begging white America for anything. They don’t care. It’s degrading.
