Announcing $ALDEA Fair Launch

$ALDEA will be one of our DAO governance tokens. It is a fungible token that will allow its holders to participate in different decisions and access various services within the ALDEA ecosystem.

With it you will be able to point out which proposals from the community deserve more attention or vote on what kind of updates we should make to our protocol.

Throughout this article, we tell you how it will be distributed and why we are so excited about everything that is coming.

Introduction

During the first year and a half of activity, ALDEA focused on generating a community organically, with the values of decentralization, transparency and equal opportunities as a standard.

Thanks to our desire to generate positive change in Latin America, we have managed to unite to solve problems together: examples of this type are the two proposals that we managed to fund, as a community, through Iteration 0.

This degree of organization and coordination allowed us to step strong, also, within the group of Cardano SPOs, one of the most important pieces for the support of our network. Today, we have 26 Single Pool Operators as part of our community and this number continues to grow day by day. On the other hand, we also count with a large number of Developers and technical profiles with knowledge of Haskell and Plutus.

But despite all these achievements, we need to make a leap in quality to be able to take ALDEA to the place it deserves. All of us who are part of this project see the enormous potential we have and how necessary and inevitable it is, day by day, to have tools of this type, which allow us to modify our reality in Latin America.

That is why today we want to introduce you to an idea that we have been working on for several months now: the ALDEA DAO governance token.

Why do we need a token?

Latin America is not just another region in the world. We know that, currently, the majority of Cardano projects have been focused on Africa, North America and Europe. That is why we are here to reverse this situation, since we believe that the emergence of blockchain technology presents a wide range of novel use cases that can be very useful in contexts of institutional weakness and lack of transparency, such as those seen on our continent.

We are convinced that our token can help us take ALDEA to the next level and become a leading DAO in the Cardano ecosystem, since with it we will be able to do things like:

• Represent ownership: owning $ALDEA tokens makes you a Member of our DAO. This sense of belonging not only motivates us to collaborate but can also help us attract more talent and attention to our community.
• Reward time: while this is not such a common concept in the traditional world, it is normal in our ecosystem to use a token to reward contributors for the time they spend working for the DAO. ALDEA will use this same concept to encourage members to create value.
• Improve coordination: the token will help us to coordinate all our members in pursuit of the vision we have in ALDEA, which will allow us to get closer to our mission.
• Make partnerships: collaborations with projects that want to help us develop beneficial solutions for our members and build within our community will be possible thanks to our token.
• Make decisions: ALDEA is a long-term project. Therefore, we promote decisions that influence the future of the project in this way. To achieve this, we will use a voting system based on “locked” tokens for the community to decide on issues related to the DAO.

Tokenomics

There will be a total of 650M $ALDEA tokens, one for each inhabitant of Latin America, which will be minted in a one-time event.

ALDEA’s fungible (divisible) token will have 6 decimal places (just like ADA) and will be created on the Cardano blockchain with a locked policy. This means that the total supply of tokens cannot be altered, both for burning and for the issuance of new tokens.

Then, they will be allocated and distributed to different participants in our ecosystem, with the aim of aligning the interests of each group. A large part of the tokens will remain in our Multisig Treasury, managed by our SPOs. The distribution will be made through a mechanism known as “Fair Launch”.

Although this event will distribute, in this first instance, a large number of tokens, later they will be scarce since the only way they can be acquired will be through valuable interactions within the ALDEA community or through the secondary market.

Fair Launch

A “Fair Launch” is a distribution of tokens whose main objective is to distribute a percentage of them through some objective criteria that is not a direct sale (for example, being an active user of the protocol) and guarantee that everyone has the same access to that distribution.

The interest groups that we will reward with the $ALDEA token will be:

• Developers and Core Contributors
• Advisors
• Iteration 0 Participants
• Stake Pool Operators (SPOs)
• Delegators
• Communities and Projects in Cardano
• ADA holders who are not in any of the above groups
• Communities and Projects in other blockchains

In addition, a percentage of the tokens will be reserved for:

• Future ISPO: faithful to our idea of empowering the SPOs of our community, part of the tokens will be used to reward both them and their delegators, in an ISPO that will be launched in 2023, after our token is already listed in some Cardano DEX.
• Grants: this allocation will allow the Core Team to carry out various Partnerships with other projects that want to help us grow our ecosystem.
• LP + Staking: part of the tokens will serve us both to provide liquidity in Cardano DEXes and to encourage those who want to provide liquidity in ALDEA pools. In addition, we will also have a staking system, developed by the Devs of our community, which will be powered by this allocation of tokens as well.
• Multisig Treasury: a large part of the tokens will remain in our Multisig Treasury for future uses and allocations on which the community can decide.

Developers and Core Contributors

Lead developers of our project as well as key participants in initiatives such as ALDEA WIKI, ALDEA Catalyst and ALDEA Grow will be rewarded with $ALDEA tokens.

Advisors

We will have an allocation of tokens for Advisors in Marketing, Communication, Community Growth, Finance, Tokenomics and Corporate Law.

Iteration 0 Participants

As promised, all Iteration 0 participating roles will receive an airdrop of $ALDEA tokens.

Stake Pool Operators (SPOs)

Another important percentage of $ALDEA tokens will go to the SPOs. We will reward our Founding SPOs and our Member SPOs.

Furthermore, true to our style of inclusion, Hispanic SPOs and Lusophone (Portuguese-speaking) SPOs who are not members of ALDEA will also be rewarded.

Delegators

If you are a delegator on Cardano, you will be able to claim $ALDEA tokens.

The delegators who will have priority and those who will receive the largest number of tokens will be those who delegate to ALDEA stake pools.

However, we will also reserve tokens for delegators in Hispanic and Lusophone stake pools.

Communities and Projects on Cardano

Hispanic and Lusophone projects in Cardano that feel aligned with the vision, mission and values of ALDEA, will be able to register to claim $ALDEA tokens. This will reach both its Founders and Core Teams as well as its members and holders.

The idea behind this allocation is to reward projects that are already working with their communities to promote the values of Cardano.

Examples of what types of projects will be able to claim tokens, among others, are:

• NFT Collections
• Wallets
• Marketplaces
• DEXes
• DAOs
• YouTube Channels
• Podcasts

ADA holders who are not in any of the above groups

A small percentage of tokens will be reserved for any ADA holder who wants to claim our token.

At ALDEA we believe in total decentralization, that’s why we want to encourage as many participants and voices as possible within our community. No one should be left out.

Communities and Projects in other blockchains

Another important point for us is interoperability with other chains. That is why projects and communities on other blockchains will also be able to claim $ALDEA. We will be in charge of helping those users with the onboarding to Cardano so that they can access our token.
