XXL 20th Anniversary

I remember when physical magazines meant so much to the hip-hop community, I would literally buy XXL, The Source and Vibe consistently. Album ratings, exclusive interviews, hip-hop beefs, albums coming soon, ads from hip-hop clothing lines, etc kept me intrigue about the culture I had grown to love since the late 80’s / early 90's.

We are so adapt to being a microwave, instant information generation that we don’t appreciate the work behind true journalism for hip-hop. Even with the growth of podcasts and online media platforms other music genres still produce high quality physical copies of publications for their music, talent and executives.

This issue of XXL makes me think about the late 90’s/00’s. Glad to see there is still some enthusiasts still roaming the earth.
