What I quoted is not absurd. You don’t agree, you want to speak of genetic differences between populations in terms of ‘race’, but that doesn’t make the science absurd. As far as the elephants… yes, a bit of a “red herring”, but fair to point out. My point is that humans are not like elephants. We can easily identify subspecies of elephant, but not of human. Well if we don’t have subspecies, what use is the concept of ‘race’?
A question I don’t think you’ve answered: exactly what is ‘race’?
Seriously. A nice concise definition. Precisely what are we looking for that distinguishes races? Exactly how much genetic difference do we allow before two humans must be considered different races? When members of two races have kids, do we get a whole new race?
