Relevant questions for FinTech startups and certainly not too many. Startups and finserv Incumbents shouldn’t “step on one night’s worth of ice” like we say in Dutch. What would be an interesting next step is to understand how the answers to these questions lead to an incumbent attractiveness score. Unfortunately both sides in most fintech-finserv partnerships don’t do their homework and fall into each others arms as teenagers in love for the first time, without properly assessing alternative options, in part due to the scarcity of options available, but also due to the drunken eagerness of both sides to “do something together”.
