The men’s beach volleyball tournament at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has reached an exhilarating climax, with Sweden, Germany, Norway, and Qatar securing their spots in the semi-finals after intense quarter-final matches held on 6 and 7 August at Champ de Mars, beneath the iconic Eiffel Tower.

Germany Overcomes Netherlands in Straight Sets

Germany’s Nils Ehlers and Clemens Wickler showcased their impressive skills and competitive spirit to advance to the semi-finals, defeating the Netherlands’ Stefan Boermans and Yorrick De Groot 2–0. The German duo’s powerful jump sets proved too much for their opponents, despite a valiant effort from Boermans and De Groot. Boermans acknowledged their opponents’ superiority, stating, “They played better and deserved the win.”

Sweden Tops Brazil with a Dominant Performance

In a stunning display, Sweden’s Jonatan Hellvig and David Ahman defeated Brazil’s Evandro Goncalves Oliveira Junior and Arthur Diego Mariano Lanci 2–0. Despite Goncalves Oliveira Junior delivering the fastest serve of the day at 94 km/h, the Swedes demonstrated their exceptional form, utilizing their trademark “Swedish jump-set” to secure their semi-final berth. Following the match, the Brazilian team recognized the need for their style to adapt to stay competitive at the highest level.
