“Set up your Facebook account for a LIVE broadcast with a minimum of 30 minutes.”
This was the instruction given to us by our professor, and this were my initial reactions:

It is not unknown that live videos are evidently prominent at this generation, which is the age of social media. This feature, that is made popular by Facebook, provides an avenue for different intentions and causes to be showcased online.
Example of these Facebook Live includes:
- Celebrities greeting
- Most personalities use this feature to interact with their fans because I feel like this method generates more engagement as everything is happening in real time. Besides, their supporters can comment questions and those inquiries would be addressed in a fast way. - Broadcasting sports competitions
- A lot of sports events are showcased through a Live video because most of the audience couldn’t afford to go to the event because of reasons such as lack of time, inaccessibility, ticket prices, etc. Example of these sports competitions are NBA, DOTA Tournaments, Car Racings, etc.

3. Broadcasting events
- In relation with the second example, more events that goes on Live are entertainment and media related such as beauty pageants, performances, mall shows, radio simulcasts, etc.
4. Showcasing a sudden circumstance
- When an unexpected happening occurs, people usually take videos of it. But thanks to social media, this footage can be taken online through a Live video, especially if its a big and significant thing. Therefore, a public viewing is needed. Examples of these include disasters and catastrophes such as fires, road accidents, shootings, etc. A remarkable misadventure that involves Live videos is the Resorts World Manila shootout.
5. Personal causes
- Most Facebook users just want to delve and see how this feature goes. Thus, they go for a Live. As for some, they set their account on Live just for the reason of a company while they’re doing something. Others do Live when they are bored. Because what better way to engage with online friends than to be Live?
Going back to my Live, I’ve invited two of my high school friends as my interviewees. I thought that I would need a company of people that I’m close with, in order to generate a spontaneous conversation.
An hour before our Live, I posted a heads up for my viewers:

I envisioned our Live as fun and free flowing. With this, I though of a topic that is our common interest. And, I though of basketball ❤
This topic enables us to create a conversation of excitement as we talk about this subject a lot! Furthermore, I thought that basketball as a topic would be relatable. Questions that I asked these young men are their favorite teams, players they idolize, what started them to like and play this sport, their favorite basketball move, and many more!
Alongside the main course of the video (an interview), I prepared a game which is called game of phones. The reason I though out of this specific game because it is easy to play, and provides entertainment for both the players and the viewers. I also believe that a game in a Live video would generate a light mood.
