Berlin startup receives a huge tech award
Berlin-based startup Wirelane receives the Red Dot Award for its specially developed charging station. The international design award Red Dot has been identifying the best products of each year since 1955. In 2019, designers and companies from 55 countries submitted more than 5,500 products to the competition.
Wirelane CEO Constantin Schwaab, 40, is pleased about the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2019: “The award underscores our design aspirations and confirms that our technically revolutionary charging stations are convincing creatively.”
Since 2017, Wirelane has been jointly developing the award-winning W1 charging point the international design and innovation consultancy IDEO. “What a great job for our team with a customer like Wirelane to shape the mobility of the future together,” says Nicki Schäfer, Senior Designer IDEO.
Revolution in the e-mobility sector

The Wirelane software gives a clear overview of the data and the use of own charging points: You can see how often, where and how long charging points are used and can flexibly adapt tariffs and offers.

With the Wirelane app you always keep track of charge cycles, payments and billing.
Specially developed charging stations, consisting of two product groups:
W1 — awarded with the Red Dot Award for “Product Design 2019”.
Light & Charge — single and double steles, lantern and wall mounting
All products are approved in the European market and equipped with the standardized connector type 2 (EN 62196–2).
