First Time Writing on Medium? Same here...
I have written countless journal entries, over 100 poems, and constructed many essays on a variety of topics. It has finally come time to write publicly and differently. In such a way that attracts others, informs them, or even encourages them.

I have been instructed by many that the more you do anything the better you get at it. It takes 10,000 hours to master anything, and it all begins with the first hour.
Welcome to my first hour!
Hardest thing about this is actually feeling like this is something worth even putting out into the world for someone else to hear. Maybe it’s for you or maybe you didn’t even make it this far. If you did, then again! Welcome!
Fear can be the driving motivator of someone not accomplishing something or accomplishing anything. It can be a wall that stops you from moving forward or a mountain that is meant to be climbed and conquered.
If you are wondering whether you should write or not, then write! Do not question the urge because if you climb this mountain to write then you have accomplished something today!
This sets you apart from many others because you can go to bed tonight knowing that “I finally wrote today; I started the climb up this mountain.”
There are more articles like this that are better or worse that will encourage you to climb but I hope that in your ventures that this one spurs you on.
Whatever your goals on in writing whether it be to write a novel, get published, or even write a dissertation that would give more knowledge to the world; don’t forget where you started.
Don’t forget the insecurities on your mountain climb; the writer's block, the lack of motivation, the beginning that was at first so hard, but you had not just made it to the top of one mountain but to the top of countless mountains.
Good Luck! I shall see you on the peaks of many mountains!
