Uniting 1st, 2nd and 3rd World Economies
WonderBus started with a simple vision: to provide value to two people with one product. It’s actually inspired by Sam Walton’s vision of providing value to people every single day.
What the hell does that mean — “provide value to two people with one product?” Simply put, we are overturning the traditional import/export model in a really weird way. In fact, some may call it crazy. We are leveraging an economy of scale to…
- Ensure consumers get great products at great prices
- Ensure creators are fairly compensated
- Ensure WonderBus is profitable from an early
- Create recurring revenue for brand advocates (we call them “Ambassadors”)
It all starts with paying people what you can afford to pay them in a world that pays what people will accept. Let that notion sit in, on and around your mind for a second.
All Of This Sounds Nice
…But It Ignores ONE Big Problem
There are quite a few companies that work well doing exactly what WonderBus is proposing to do; that is, benefiting creators, consumer and company alike. Nothing new under the sun after all. (One of my favorite examples of this is Krochet Kids. I really respect what they have built. Go check them out).
However, the downside to this supply model is that it only scales down to 3rd world countries; it doesn’t scale up to 1st world countries.
Why not? Two reasons. These companies have to take into account a fluctuating sales quota which means they are stuck managing inventory and thus factoring in recouping their losses into the bottom line of the product.
Simply put, every product has a cost. Here’s a list of costs associated with each and every box that will fly out the WonderBus door and onto customer’s front door steps:

Additionally, there is an extreme wage difference associated with typical cost of goods between 1st and 3rd world countries. Yeah, captain obvious over here. But here’s the pivot point… You only need two key elements to attack this problem head on.
1 — All For One
Traditional business models look at their supply channel as an en masse provider. This means that the supplier is good exclusively for what it produces. The supplier is a “what” not a “who”. This typically leaves a company to manage the relationship and thus wages associated with each product sold are subsequently determined. However, by targeting small collectives and individuals to supply products, WonderBus bypasses this problem and allows for individual creators to benefit in a much bigger way.
Simply put, if everyone in the world gave $1 to an individual, that individual could buy his or her own country. If Bill Gates, on the other hand, gave just $10 to every person in the world, he’d be flat broke.
We call this phenomenon being “supplier agnostic” and it implies that we are leveraging one big POOL of buyers to focus on one itty bitty creator.
2 — One For All
The traditional sales model is tricky and highly expensive because of inventory management. What if you could have exactly the right amount of inventory every single month? You would lower operating expenses via added precision.
The key is not needing to stack a surplus of inventory to accommodate for an unknown quantity of sales. Yes. This implies that the quantity of sales is predictable from an early stage in the company. This degree of precision is typically only available to enterprises with decades of historical data, industry-specific analysis and a dedicated team of financial experts. But thanks to prevailing technologies, a new solution is possible.
Something Good Worth Sharing
The whole idea behind WonderBus is that it’s more effective and proactive to teach 100 to fish instead of giving fish to 1000. And because of this focus, there will be limitations in what we can accomplish. Which is why there’s a precedent to share this model.
After we’ve been able to successfully scale and prove this model, we will be releasing documents on how to create your own “WonderBus”. We really do believe this can change the world. And more importantly, we know that we cannot accommodate the vast needs of everyone on this big beautiful rock.

A friend of mine shared the video below with me. I’ve watched it close to 50 times since. And more importantly, it has had a profound impact on the foundation of this company. These wise words are the guiding force behind much of what’s being accomplished here.
