slowly
 very slowly
 getting back to life
 one neuron at a time
between sleep and naps and numbings

recovery is long and arduous
when the body shuts down completely
 hot chills
 cold fever
 sore throat
 aching muscles
 bronchial cough
 congested sinuses
 loss of appetite
 loss of will
 all you can is sleep

long hours of slumber
 and fast paced delirium
 a father that never was
two cities that will ever be
3425 miles and an ocean away

the absurdity of this life
 is probably the root cause
 of this neverending nausea,
 heavy stomach and gargoyling gut.
