CoronaVirus has badly affected the whole world, not only the health system has been overburdened but due to severe and prolonged lockdown economies are also crashing.

Just like the whole world, Karachi city, the metropolis of Pakistan is also facing similar situation.

Its almost a month since the lockdown, all daily wagers are suffering. It was feared that these people will die of hunger. The fear was real, the threat was real.

But then came, the hero, the man who single-handedly has won the hearts of the people of Karachi, Zafar Abbas, General Secretary of JDC. JDC is an NGO that is distributing basic commodities to various households in the whole city of Karachi.

Zafar Abbas is distributing flour, sugar, edible oil, tea, pulses and other necessities to the daily wagers and other needy people at their door step.

His aim is that no person in Karachi sleeps with an empty stomach. It's a huge task to do, but now he has a force of volunteers who is helping him and his organization.

The best thing about his organization is, that don’t ask the race, religion, caste, language or any other information. They are doing it just for the sake of humanity.

Distributing ration (basic food commodities) in such a huge metropolis, where the population is approx 14.91 million is an impossible task but Zafar Abbas is spending his day and night to make sure no one sleeps hungry.

Beside that, JDC also operates two DasterKhwans (the place where they give food for free) in two parts of the city. Where anyone can get the cooked food in whatever quantity they want. These two points operate 24/7.

By seeing these acts, truly we can say that Zafar Abbas and his organization is an unsung hero of Karachi and Pakistan. We all should promote and help these organizations to fight Covid-19 and its effects
