This past long weekend Sarvoday Bishnoi and I did our first Triathlon! I am not going to lie if I tell you how many times I wanted to give up. We started training in January, on and off and we were not that strict with our meal plans and training. Some weeks were good some weeks were terrible. I gained about 10 pounds during this time, as I was anxious that I wasn’t ready enough.

The day before the race, I was so close to switching to a sprint, and was hopefully wanting Sarvo to change too, but he didn’t he was determined to finish what we originally signed up for, an Olympic Triathlon (yes folks, our first triathlon, and we went for the most extended one 1.5 swimming, 40 km biking, 10km running). Sunday came in, and I was so excited, started with the swimming 1.5 km. …

Last year I had the great opportunity to design a blog image for a fantastic post that Stefanie Grieser and Amy Wood co-wrote. The blog post went viral, and led a group of women to create and host an event, called CentHER Stage (read all about it here.)

With one successful event under our belts, we realized what we’d created could be a sustainable, purpose-driven business, so we made the decision to rebrand.

The original name, CentHER Stage, just didn’t fit with our vision. We realized we were limiting our audience to only those whose pronouns are she/her. …

Recently we had a restructure in the marketing team. And now I am on the Awareness team, creating content for the top of the funnel. There are a lot of blog images, ads and inline CTAs that need to be created. Anybody who is in design will know that this type of work can be tedious and not as rewarding, especially coming from a team where our projects had a lot of process and research. But I decided to take this change with open arms and tackle each project with my best attitude.

Amy, our content strategist, came to me asking me for a custom image for a blog piece she was writing. It talked about how in our upcoming conference, Call To Action Conference, our events team made an effort to showcase 50/50 men and woman speakers. I saw this as an opportunity to improve my art and collage skills, and wanted to have fun and experiment with it. So I did! …

Problem:

Our evaluators are not publishing enough landing pages because they don’t have a campaign to run.

Our proposed solution:

Let’s provide them with an inspiration gallery where they can see high converting pages from our top clients, that they don’t necessary need to be running a campaign to create a landing page. …

I will share examples of how validating our campaigns at an early stage and put it in front of customers really helped me and my team see how we can make our marketing inputs better. Numbers were not perfect, sample size wasn’t perfect, however the transformation of before and after were enough to make me believe that every marketing team could use this.

I am not saying there is a perfect way to come up with a campaign. We perform usability test with the resources we had, the learnings we got were still valid.

And how my team of 3 was able to make 6 campaigns in a period of 8 months. …

Back in September Customer Success Team at Unbounce came to us because they wanted to develop visual reminder of the core commonalities for new employees. I quickly jumped on this project as there was an opportunity to create illustrations.

I am going to tell you my recent discovery or better said lesson..

Everyone talks about how to find happiness you need to do something you love. And most of the times is about side projects or passions but rarely I hear about finding happiness where you are at the job you are doing at the moment.
