Madonna’s Performance at the Brit Music Awards “stumbles” the world

Madonna performed her brand new song “Living For Love” at the Brit Music Awards tonight.

It was the best selling female artist of all time’s first Brit Music Awards appearance in 20 years.

Of course it is all anyone who saw it is talking about, highlighted by the fact that Madonna fell at the very beginning of her performance.

It seemed to me that there was one tie on her cape that was not undone in time before her dancers on cue pulled it from her.

This caused Madonna to literally be pulled backwards, taking a step down the stairs in her heels and falling to the ground.

Madonna soon after announced across social media:

“Armani hooked me up!

My beautiful cape was tied too tight!

But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up!

Thanks for your good wishes! I’m fine! #livingforlove” -Madonna

You can certainly hear it in her voice when she was pulled backwards, that the cape had cut into her neck.

So the fact that the cape was tied too tight to untie in time makes perfect sense.

As the lyrics of her song say “She picked up her crown and put it back on her head” illustrating the true iconic professional that is Madonna.

Adrenaline would have been kicked in high gear and more than likely she wouldn’t of been feeling the affects of her fall until after her performance.

As a professional performer I totally understand what this would have felt like.

The regular person wouldn’t understand the impact that a fall like this actually has, when your on stage with the eyeballs of the world watching.

Over my 31 year performing career I have seen it all.

The all famous phrase “The show must go on” couldn’t be more true, especially in Madonna’s case!

Majority of the time when someone has any kind of fall or wardrobe malfunction, they crumble to pieces ruining the rest of their performance.

It is a constant mind battle for the remainder of the performance to keep going and push through.

Feelings of embarrassment, anger, frustration and panic can be very high if you let them control you.

And if you do, you’re more than likely going to forget the rest of your choreography.

If you’re not on stage alone this can have a catastrophic effect.

Madonna’s fall happened at the very beginning of her performance, so she literally had to pick herself up very quickly and carry on.

Her dancers did an outstanding job of going with the flow during that brief moment.

When things like this happen you have to think smart and you have to think quick.

Madonna managed to get back up, pick up her microphone, un tie her cape and continue performing in stunning fashion very quickly.

There is such media hype surrounding her “fall” and you’re probably thinking “well you’re just adding to it by writing this post”.

To some extent this is true and I battled with myself as to whether I would or not.

I decided to go ahead with it because I wanted to illustrate a very strong point.

Madonna’s song, Living For Love is all about moving forward no matter what happens.

Are you the person in life who get’s pulled down the stairs, gets back up and keeps moving forward?

Or are you the person who settles for average?

Are you willing to get kicked in the teeth and get back up over and over again?

Or are you the crab in the bucket that keeps pulling the other crab down that’s attempting to get out.

It’s a sad reality but people are scratching each others eyes out to get to the bottom in life.

But the best part about that is there’s so much room waiting for you at the top!

“This will be a revolution of inquiring further….

Of not worrying about winning other people’s approval…..

Of not wishing you were someones else but being perfectly content to be who you are…

Someone unique and rare and fearless…

I want to start a revolution of love.”

Everyone deserves true greatness in life and it is always a choice on whether we go after it or choose to stay average.

“Lifted me up and watched me stumble after the heartache I’m gonna carry on”

Are you going to give in to all the nay sayers, people who laugh at you when you fall and people in your life that tell you that you can’t do something, or are you going to do whatever it takes UNTIL….
