Good article. As always, the key is in actually measuring the pain (e.g. downtime, lead time etc.) and make this visible to everyone in the company. These things should not live in people’s inboxes, but on widely accessible dashboards. Once everybody knows that this is a problem, action will follow, or the business will look even more reckless. The only change is that they won’t be able to blame “IT” anymore.
