Suarez: FIFA owes me an apology!

It’s been one year now since Suarez bit Chiellini and Suarez missed the Copa America that just ended because he has been banned from playing in the national team. The Uruguayan national team that was less powerful because of Suarez’s absence finally ended in the quarterfinals. Recently, Suarez accepted an interview, saying that his suspensions were too serious and FIFA should give him an apology.

At a group game of 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Uruguay played against Italy and this match decided which team would reach the knockout stage. During the game, Suarez indignantly bit Chiellini’s shoulder, which impressed the fans the most. Afterwards, FIFA declared that Suarez was banned from 9 official national team matches and he was also debarred from soccer activities for 9 months.

The immediate aftermath of the punishment was Suarez’s absence from this year’s Copa America. He accepted an interview lately and he said the punishment was too severe, “I realized I did a wrong thing and I prepared to get penalized. But I think the punishment was too harsh and they should apologize to me, like I said sorry to Chiellini.”

After what happened, Suarez once quibbled that he just overbalanced and fell on Chiellini. He didn’t even tell the truth to his wife, but his lies were exposed by the telecast. When the penalties were declared, Suarez barely restrained his feelings, “When Tabarez told me the results, I tried to stay strong, but I could not help bursting into tears. Everyone makes mistakes, but it’s unbelievable to be informed that you can’t even step on the pitch.”
