PRAISE THE LORD! Football is back and the 2016 fiasco of an election is almost over. Ain’t God good? (Excuse my slang but it was necessary) With the countdown to the NFL Season literally hours away, I felt that it’s fitting to give you my predictions for the season with award winners as well. So in the words of the world-renowned prophet, Young Jeezy, “Let’s Get it!”

NFC Division winners : Panthers, Packers, Cowboys, and Seahawks.

Wild Card teams : Vikings and Cardinals.

  • The Panthers have no one else that is a valid foe in their division. They’ll ease to a division title because The Bucs aren’t ready yet, Atlanta’s schedule is extremely tough, and The Saints’ defense is atrocious and they lack a running game.
  • As for the Packers, Teddy Bridgewater went down with a torn ACL and that will be the difference between the Vikings winning the division and being a wild card team. The NFC East is so unpredictable but the Cowboys are the team with the best roster in that division from top to bottom. Also, I think that Dak Prescott plays well for them and possibly takes that job from Tony Romo.
  • In the NFC West the Seahawks will reign supreme in a division that will feature a division with two ten plus win teams with the Cardinals coming in second. This is a tough division with the Rams being the third best team and bolstering the best D-Line in the league with Aaron Donald, Robert Quinn, and William Hayes. They also have Todd Gurley who I believe will have a monster season, but they will fall short of the playoffs.
  • The Wild Card teams will be the Vikings and Cardinals. Even with their starting quarterback going down the Vikings have an all-time great in the backfield in Adrian Peterson and a very strong team overall. If Sam Bradford can not screw up just enough, they’ll be a playoff team. As for the Cardinals, who were one of the best teams in football last year will be just as explosive again this year with their vertical passing attack. Expect them to be challenging Seattle for the division title and have the first Wild Card spot on lock.

AFC Division winners : Texans, Steelers, Patriots, and Raiders.

Wild Card teams : Broncos and Chiefs.

  • A few surprises on the AFC side of things huh? The Texans will have one of the top defenses in the league again this year, they signed the versatile and speedy Lamar Miller to replace aging Arian Foster at running back, and Brock Osweiler is an upgrade at QB. Not to mention, they have one the best receivers in Football and that is Deandre Hopkins. Andrew Luck will struggle again this year, the Titans are a year away, and the Jags have nice talent but also aren’t ready. With that being said, Houston wins this division for a second straight year.
  • The Steelers will have probably the most explosive offense in football with Big Ben, Antonio Brown, and Le’veon Bell at running back. The Bengals will be a worthy opponent but this will be the first time in 5 years that Marvin Lewis’ team will miss the postseason.
  • With Brady missing the first four games due to “Deflategate” I see this as a blessing in disguise for the Patriots. There’s no way they go any less than 2–2. Hell, maybe they go 3–1 based on how strong their overall team is but how’s this a blessing in disguise? Because Brady will come back fresh, rested, and motivated as ever. Remember the first ten games of last year where the Pats went 10–0, Brady was the favorite for MVP, and running the score up on everyone because he was pissed at the league? Expect that ruthless Brady when he returns. The Patriots win this division at 12–4 or 11–5.
  • Lastly, The Oakland Raiders who’ve been terrible in recent memory but are on the come up. They have three of the best young players in the NFL. Khalil Mack is a top 5 LB in the game. Amari Cooper is electric at receiver and Derek Carr is one of the best young QBs in the league. They’ve also got Latavius Murray who rushed for over 1,000 yards last season in only his second season. Watch out for this team as they’ll squeak by the Broncos for the division title who’s starting Trevor Siemian at QB……Before you say anything, I don’t know who he is either.
  • The other wild card spot will go to the Kansas City Chiefs. This team has a very good defense and a complete back in Jamaal Charles. They feature a good coach and one of the top Tight Ends in the game in Travis Kelce.

Awards

MVP : Aaron Rodgers (Packers)

Defensive Player of the year : Luke Kuechly (Panthers)

Offensive Rookie of the year : Ezekeil Elliot (Cowboys)

Defensive Rookie of the year : DeForest Buckner (49ers)

Super Bowl LI

I put a lot of thought into this and I’m going to go with a QB driven match-up. (The two best in the NFL if you ask me) The Patriots will face off against The Packers in Super Bowl 51. Who will win this match up? I’ve got the Packers taking home the Vince Lombardi Trophy with Aaron Rodgers sweeping the Regular Season and Super Bowl MVP. Now it’s time to watch some football and for every single one of my predictions to be ultimately shattered. That is the beauty of football, you never really know.
