You’re right, this is a short sum-up of a bigger topic. Most people’s struggles circle around a few specific problems. First and foremost, almost everybody is bummed by how slowly they progress — which is actually normal, especially if you have no related background.

Common problems also are too much dependence on tutorials (and fear of coding alone), lack of personal projects and portfolio and not knowing where to start, fear of job interviews and struggles with resume, as well as fear of not having a CS degree.

I’ve got a list of interesting quotes and stories. That’s material for at least 3 more posts.
