Quizlet became more aggressive with getting paid subscriptions. Are there any Quizlet alternatives?

Quizlet has been around since 2005. A couple of years ago it became much more difficult to use — they decreased the free options. Plenty of Quizlet alternatives popped up and are gaining popularity.

Karteto

There are now plenty of free Quizlet alternatives. For language learners the best one is Karteto.

Karteto is a flashcard app that focuses on spaced repetition and languages. It has great design and makes learning fun and enjoyable.

Best of all, in Karteto you have an inbuilt dictionary translator that allows you to quickly add words to your study packs.

Anki

Anki is a super powerful generalist flashcards app. It has a good amount of community study packs. At the same time it’s not the easiest to use as it does try to be a jack of all trades.

Brainscape, DuoCards, Flashcards, Lingvist, WordList, Cram

There are plenty of other apps and websites like Quizlet, but they each have significant flaws (confusing UI, lack of flexibility, cost) which make them inferior compared to Karteto and Anki.
