What We Talk About When We Talk About “Fat”

And so now, I am even more impressed by you. Because, gratitude--

Gratitude for this life and the realization that even the shitty parts are a gift.

It’s rare that someone really gets that.

Everything teaches us something that broadens our usefulness to others. Because that’s why we are here: to shine and show up and be the voice someone desperate can hear.

Your dad sounds amazing. My dad is a very sick puppy. Your dad gave you a foundation. Mine gave me different resources.

I used to pray and pray for a father like yours. I guess, to be honest, sometimes I still do.

Except I wouldn’t trade who I am for anything, and I am who I am because of the things I survived.

I believe that we are not products of our environment, but rather products of how we react to our environment. I can blossom in the desert or wilt in paradise.

I get to decide which way I go.

Thank you…for being so normal.

Whatever that means.
