Ditto. Her selective/random/intermittent acknowledgement of those showing support and/or offering assistance really stirred up old trauma wounds in me. It was a tactic my father (and later my husband) REALLY liked to use as a manipulation/power play. I don’t know if it was deliberate. At this point I’m just trying to right-size my importance to this situation. I am not nearly enough of a big deal that random strangers would seek me out for the sole purpose of manipulating my perception to undermine my self-confidence. Lol.
