I feel a little differently about the highlight function. For me, it was an acquired taste. I’m totally on board now-as in, forever trying to highlight stuff on platforms that aren’t Medium. At the beginning, though, I had no idea what it was about. But it felt like I was being graded or edited or something else that smelled vaguely punitive.

Yes, I have no doubt my insecurities played a huge part in that. :)

Then, when I realized it couldn’t all be negative, I didn’t understand how I was supposed to know why something was highlighted. Good? Bad? They identify? It’s funny? WHAAAATTTTT!!????

I realize now that a highlight is an affirmation here, and I apply them liberally as well. But I was not very quick on the uptake.
