I have been here. When a kind doctor agreed to wean me off of opiates, I was smoking 2-4 fentanyl patches and eating 25-30 Norco every day just to keep the runs and sweats and shakes at bay. I was also heading up a girls boarding home and student teaching 4-8th grade in a small Alaskan village.

You kept saying you couldn’t describe it if someone hadn’t been there.

I’ve been there.

The doctor told me he would do this once. Only once.

After a million failed attempts, once was all it took.

Almost a year before I was opiate free but that was 15 years ago and I’ve been that way ever since.

Your story sounds so crazy except it’s not crazy at all.
