I was brought to Alaska in 1983 when my dad got a job in Prudhoe Bay. Before that I lived in SE New Mexico.

When I married my now ex-husband, it was with the understanding that we would only stay here for 5 years. That was 15 years ago. We divorced (STILLHERE) after 7 years and now I’m here until the kids are grown.

So be it.

The darkness is horrible, but you find ways to cope with the fact that you go to work in the dark and come home from work in the dark.

I don’t actually see many bears.

Lots of moose, though.

I wouldn’t trade them.
