In case you were wondering (doubt it since you have an older daughter too, but in case…), this is also true for neurotypical young adult children. I am constantly having to reboot my brain regarding my daughter, and remind myself, truly, what I was like at her age. And 10 years later. Sigh. I don’t know what in God’s name possesses me to compare everything she does to an outrageously inflated standard but I do it,
