Interesting that you say this. It used to baffle me when my ex-husband (Narcissist 100%) would make a decision and even when it totally backfired on him or clearly was the wrong decision and he was given an opportunity to change his mind--like, NO ONE WOULD HAVE EVEN KNOWN BUT ME-- he would refuse. No matter how much better it would have made things for him ( or any of us) he would refuse.
I finally realized it was because to him, changing his mind was the same as admitting he was wrong, and he was never wrong.
Insane.
Same when he got caught in a lie. He would stand behind that lie if it killed him ( or us).
I don’t understand it.
