Yes. I think it’s important to remember what is within our control, essentially two things: attitude and behavior. How we act and how we react. The difference between owning our own shit and owning other people’s shit is the difference between being independent and codependent. If others’ actions dictate our feelings, we are losing this fight.

Not allowing others to determine our attitudes and behaviors in life is not the same as letting them walk all over us. It just means that when we are wronged we have a choice.

It does not mean we don’t hold others accountable for their actions.
