The Constitutional Convention of 1787 was conducted under the rules of the Articles of Confederation, whereas an an amendments convention under Article V today would NOT allow a wholesale rewriting of the Constitution. These two scenarios are not at all equatable.

I, like many other people, am not necessarily in favor of the amendment alluded to in this article. Just because we may or may not agree with the content of that particular resolution does not mean we should be afraid of the process through which it can come about.
