I’m sorry, how were any of those “gendered” criticisms?
“Why are your slides so pink? It’s very distracting.”
Unless you’re dealing with a design that resolves around that color, why would you use anything other than muted colors?
“Stop pushing your hair behind your ear when you present. It’s very distracting.”
Moving your hands to your face/head is usually seen as a nervous tick and is directing attention away from any gestures you’re supplementing your presentation with.
“Your voice goes up after every sentence you say.”
Tone, speed, and projection are a huge part of presentation. People tend to raise their voice at the end of a sentence to indicate a question — so perhaps the audience might have felt that you weren’t conveying your presentation with confidence.
Every complaint listed would have been applicable to any other person, regardless of his/her/their gender.
If I watched a presentation where the presenter plays with their hair, voice bounces up and down, and uses pink slides, I’d say the exact same things. Award or no award, that’s why its called feedback.
