Thanks for raising this point. A good way to avoid doing the work is to trick yourself into thinking you’re productive learning a new technology. It’s a form of procrastination. It’s at least not entirely useless though, as exposing yourself to different paradigms can potentially help you down the line but good to be aware that it could be bringing you down the rabbit hole rather than helping to get things done.

Sometimes I feel like that’s what I’m doing on medium. Looking for little nuggets of wisdom rather than building the next big thing….
