Talking about the Media (on Medium)
This seems like as good a place as any for me to make medium-length commentaries about articles I read. Like this one:

As is my habit, I disagree with the fundamental presumption. Blaming Craig Newmark or Mark Zuckerberg for the decline of daily newspapers is preposterous, and claiming that anything they could do could reverse the trend is absurd.
The major media conglomerates have seen the writing on the wall. Both Gannett and the Tribune Company have spun out their newspaper divisions (creating the amusingly named Tronc and Tegna; Gannett and Tronc are the likely-to-fail print businesses). Nobody in America should buy a newspaper company today and expect to make money.
