Bob and me at Cleavelys

This story is about my dog, Bob, who is a Dalmatian cross Collie. He is very nosy and has an opinion about EVERYTHING! Today Bob gets ready for Bonfire night, dogs edition.

So yesterday, Bob was really scared of the fireworks and unfortunately couldn’t get to sleep, but a bit later on I told him to breath in and out, and it worked! In a second he was asleep. But today, Bob gets ready for Bonfire night, but dog edition!

What a night! Bob was still trying to get over last night’s terrors when he got up today. It was so horrible that he only got to sleep at 05:00 (five o’clock) in the morning. Poor Bob, he even had an extra hour in bed. But never mind. He started to get on with his day as usual. While he was getting ready, he started to think about the Bonfire party that the dogs always held nearby. He thought about what he was going to wear, what he could cook and serve, and whether the weather would hold up for an outdoor party, or whether it would have to be held indoors. So he made a list on his Bone Phone, starting from the top, what was he going to wear?

As you know, Bob cleared out a lot of stuff from his cupboard, so he went back to see whether he still had anything suitable. Oooh, what about this, he thought, as he picked up a really sparkly collar? No, not really suitable. What about the velvety collar? It may pick up dirt if they were outside. How about the collar with flashing lights? Ooh, the see-through collar, now that would be fancy! Too many choices! And then he had to choose matching coats and leads … he didn’t know what to wear. Time was passing by, so he picked up the first collar again and said to himself, why did I not want to wear this? It looks so good on me! Matching sparkly lead and coat and he was done! Next, he had to decide what he was going to serve.

Bob thought about who said that they were coming, and wrote their name down in a list. Then he thought whether any dogs had allergies, but none of them had phoned him up to let him know that they were allergic to anything. He quickly checked his messages but no, none of the dogs were allergic to anything. Bob just wanted to make sure that everybody had a good time. So he continued writing his list and planned all the treats and snacks that he would get. Next was the scariest part, should it be ... indoor or outdoor?

Because Bob had been really scared of all of the big bangs, he thought that he would prefer an indoor party. He checked the weather, and the forecast said rain, rain and more rain. He was so relieved! It would definitely have to be indoor! The other good thing was that they wouldn’t get cold being outside. The not-so-good thing was that they would have a hard time burning things on the bonfire, because you couldn’t have a fire indoors. Or could you? Bob thought he would have to have a chat with me to see how he could hold an indoor Bonfire party?

I love pets and I want to make the world a better place for animals. I also enjoy baking dog biscuits and listening to music.
