Automated growth marketing for mobile apps like no other

Time flies when you’re having fun. It’s hard to believe that two years have gone by since we first created Liquid. It took us almost one year to release the first version of the platform and the same amount of time to create Liquid 2.0, which I’m proud to announce that has just been released.

In the first version of Liquid we created what is probably one of the most complete analytics platforms for mobile apps. On top of that we gave app publishers the possibility to personalize each element of their app in real-time, without changing the code. During the ensuing period we’ve talked to our customers, analysed their needs and saw what was available out there. Which brings us to Liquid 2.0.

Liquid 2.0 is less about features, but more about usability, actions and results. There seems to be a race in the market to add more and more features to analytics and marketing automation platforms, without anyone deeply considering what users want and need. That is why in Liquid 2.0 features are under the hood. Our goal is to offer app publishers a tool that is very easy to use “out-of-the-box”, that invites to action and that enables app publishers to achieve their main objectives: improve retention, increase engagement, improve monetisation and grow the user base.

Liquid 2.0 takes full advantage of our analytics platform and takes it to the next level. We did this by creating Formulas, i.e. ways to perform actions to specific groups of users given a specific occurrence or time. There are a few things you should know about Formulas:

  • Liquid created pre-built formulas to reach specific goals, but you can also create your own formulas or change the pre-built ones
  • Formulas have three components: an audience (segment of users), an action (e.g. push-notification, an in-app message, an element personalisation or sending of data to an external platform), and a time (that can be scheduled or triggered through the occurrence of an event)
  • You can see the results of your formulas so you know if they are working or not at any given moment, and this way, you can also react immediately
  • Additionally to your own intelligence and knowledge of your users and business, some of the formulas use Liquid’s proprietary intelligent algorithms (e.g. identification of the users who have a high churn probability or the time period a specific user is most likely to be using the phone)
  • Formulas are extremely easy to use: you just need to follow the step-by-step approach and fill in the required fields. In no time, you can be running multiple marketing campaigns and seeing your app results constantly improve.

Here’s an example of a pre-built formula:

  • Audience: users with a high churn probability (automatically identified by Liquid’s intelligent algorithm)
  • Time: the next day the user is identified as high-churn probability, at the time he is most likely using the phone (all this automatically done by Liquid)
  • Action: send a push-notification with a message of your choice

The time it takes to put this formula live is just the time it takes you to write the push-notification copy. It’s really that easy.
