Great article, Lex. Really interesting to read about the integration of WeChat in multiple facets of daily life.
I can see where US tech is behind in areas like payment, but do you think the WeChat model for content would ever gain traction outside China? It seems news/content imbedded in a Messenger-like app is a response to the absence of Facebook and Instagram 'newsfeeds’. In the US, I tend to look at what Snapchat and Facebook are doing with video as the next big platform for content and advertisers.
