I liked this basic bitch article, because I think Friends is bubble-gum and I know a lot of people that love it. Also the idea of Friends trigging the downfall of Western Civilization is blatantly idiotic hyperbole, until I realized the author was not really joking, then it became sad. I wonder what Spengler or Adorno would think? I mean it’s a shlock laugh product designed for mass appeal. Of course there is not going to be heavily intellectualized conversations. The article started out as with a valid and interesting observation, that of Ross as tragic hero, and then denigrated into a diarrhea of elitist virtue signalling. A little like going to a baseball game and complaining that no one is preforming Shakespeare.
