But still, I feel like we need to construct some kind of a critical apparatus, I don’t know what exactly, by which we can examine such bland writing. They are horrifyingly popular, and us(?) ‘literary types’ cannot keep pretending that this isn’t significant. Or just keep giving simplistic criticisms, that they are just plain unliterary.

I don’t know, I used irony, which is quite unsustainable, and open to misinterpretation, as is evident from your earlier comment.

But who will expend the energy to present a Marxist or a psychoanalytic critique? :D
