What if instead of relying on the “stop climate change” advantage you focus on the real upsides of the move? There are actually a lot. First of all LA has a huge pollution problem — moving to renewables will improve the quality of life and health of everyone in the area. Second reducing dependence on non-renewables will insulate the city from escalting energy prices. Finally, solar panels are cool.
